steve’s Story

I’ve been a St. Charles resident for 40 years, having moved here for a job. I never left. I got married, raised two daughters, and now enjoy three granddaughters and one grandson.

I worked as a supervisor installing stairs and railings in homes and businesses across the county.

I’ve spent much of my life fighting to improve the livability of average citizens, just like me. I volunteer for several area community service agencies: Lazarus House, Fox Valley Citizens for Peace and Justice, Habitat for Humanity, and Illinois Citizens for Clean Elections.

I understand how hard it is to work for a living and pay taxes, while trying to enjoy a quality of life we cherish here in Kane County.

I will work to represent you in spending our county tax dollars wisely.

the issues

Our citizens pay taxes for our county government to function. Our quality of life here is precious. I will be mindful of the tax burden we already have, while addressing the necessary functions of government for Kane County to be livable and prosperous for everyone.

Traffic congestion is a problem throughout much of the county. We need to secure full funding for the Long Meadow Parkway and finish that project. Public transportation should be expanded so everyone can easily get to work and save money on gas.

Transparency in our government is important for our democracy. Citizens have a right to know of any conflicts of interest in their elected officials. They have a right to know government business, the people’s business, and how their tax dollars are being spent
